Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism During Vertical Immersion and In-Water Exercise

چکیده
Abstract Background: Vertical head-out water immersion has different physiological effects on the human body system due to hydrostatic pressure and temperatures. This review examines changes in cerebral blood flow metabolism during in-water exercise Method: Systematic research was conducted PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus databases, by binary methods. It included 11 articles that met inclusion criteria. Results: Studies have shown acutely vertical thermoneutral positively affects circulation of brain. Conclusion: In healthy people, increases brain activity increasing artery velocity oxygenation. But hot cold does not a positive effect circulation.

Cerebral blood flow and metabolism during exercise.
During exercise regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF), as blood velocity in major cerebral arteries and also blood flow in the internal carotid artery increase, suggesting an increase in blood flow to a large part of the brain. Such an increase in CBF is independent of the concomitant increase in blood pressure but is modified by the alteration in arterial carbon dioxide tension (PaCO(2)). Also, ...

During exercise: the Kety-Schmidt-determined cerebral blood flow (CBF) does not change because the jugular vein is collapsed in the upright position. In contrast, when CBF is evaluated by (133)Xe clearance, by flow in the internal carotid artery, or by flow velocity in basal cerebral arteries, a approximately 25% increase is detected with a parallel increase in metabolism. During activation, an...
متن کاملThe effect of water immersion during exercise on cerebral blood flow.
INTRODUCTION Regular exercise induces recurrent increases in cerebrovascular perfusion. In peripheral arteries, such episodic increases in perfusion are responsible for improvement in arterial function and health. We examined the hypothesis that exercise during immersion augments cerebral blood flow velocity compared with intensity-matched land-based exercise. METHODS Fifteen normotensive par...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Facial immersion in cold water enhances cerebral blood velocity during breath-hold exercise in humans.
The diving response is initiated by apnea and facial immersion in cold water and includes, besides bradycardia, peripheral vasoconstriction, while cerebral perfusion may be enhanced. This study evaluated whether facial immersion in 10 degrees C water has an independent influence on cerebral perfusion evaluated as the middle cerebral artery mean flow velocity (MCA V(mean)) during exercise in nin...
